Denis Leary is an American performer who also works as a writer, producer, narrator, comic, and singer. The drama series Rescue Me, which debuted in 2004 and was nominated for four Emmy Awards, was co-created by Leary, who also acted in it.

He’s also well-known for his standout roles in The Amazing Spider-Man by Marc Webb and Draft Day by Ivan Reitman, in which he played Captain George Stacy and Cleveland Browns head coach Vince Penn, respectively.

Leary not only provided the Francis voice in A Bug’s Life but also Diego in the Ice Age series. Leary has been the narrator of NESN’s Behind the B documentary series about the Boston Bruins since the series’ start in 2013 (see also: Behind the B). In the comedy series Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll on FX from 2015 to 2016, Leary created the scripts and played the lead role.
